How to Enjoy Summer Without the Pests

Are you all ready for the summer?

It’s barbecue time in the UK.

We have a strict dress code, those with more than 2 legs are not allowed in.”

There is nothing more embarrassing than hosting an outside event (albeit a small barbecue in your back garden) and your guests having to suffer the pesky ‘pest gate crashers.’

Ants, wasps and flies, are some of these irritants.

Pest Control Minster offers advice on enjoying summer without the pests.

  • Check for holes that may need repairing, and try to keep the doors shut before and during the party. That way, even if pesky pests are in the garden, you limit them entering the house, where the guests could eventually end up.

  • Go and buy some insect repellent. You’ll need it.

  • Pest Control Minster have stressed this before, but it is so important to clean, clean, clean. Repetition for emphasis. Pests love discarded rubbish.

  • As tedious as this sounds, keep cleaning during the party. Clear up any drinks or crumbs immediately. Remember, you’re the host, you can enjoy yourself another time. Your job is to make your guests happy.

  • Try using plastic cups, it not only will save on the washing up, but there are less places for the pests to hide.

  • Use unscented sunscreen as insects are attracted to sweet smelling fragrances. That goes for perfumes and colognes too.

I hope we haven’t put too much of a damper on your summer. This advice may seem tiresome, but it will help you to have a much better time in the long run.
